What do we look for in our Care Aides and Housekeepers?
At Canadian Premier Assistance (CPA Health), we look for what we call the 3 E’s – Engagement, Experience, and Education. We are committed to offering the highest standard of quality care, and it all begins with highly qualified team members.
Engagement – Our preferred candidates are passionate about caregiving. You truly enjoy working with seniors and their families, and you are actively engaged in your role. For you, caregiving is a calling, not just a job. We offer flexible part-time and full-time hours.
Experience – Our clients depend on caregivers who bring a diverse background and skill set. Compassion, patience, and good listening skills are essential, along with well-developed communication abilities. Prior caregiving experience is an asset, and additional skills are always welcomed.
Education – We hire certified Care Aides who have successfully completed accredited care aide programs. However, if you are still in training, you may begin your career with us as a Companion to seniors, with opportunities to grow as you complete your certification.
OUR HIRING PROCESS
Our Director of Client Care will interview all candidates. If you pass the preliminary interview, we conduct the necessary background checks. Please note:
- We cannot hire individuals with a criminal record, a recent history of drug or alcohol abuse, or a communicable disease such as tuberculosis.
- A valid health certificate is required.
- Both criminal record and motor vehicle background checks must be successfully completed before hiring.
